Response: Reactive vs Proactive

There are two kinds of people:
Reactive - who are influenced easily by "social weather".
When people treat them good, they are well; but when people don't , they become defensive or protective. When weather is good, they are good; when weather is bad, it affects their attitude and performance.

Other kinds of people are Proactive- they carry their own weather with them. They do not blame circumstances, conditions for their state. Their response to external stimuli is value-based.

Eleanor Roosevelt observed, "No one can hurt you without your consent"
IN other words, Gandhi "They cannot take away our self-respect, if we we do not give it to them".
It is our willing permission, what happens to us, to our thoughts, to our choice.
Human nature tends to define one's misery in the name of circumstances or someone else's behavior.
"I have the power to control my response....I am free from any prison. No longer I am going to be controlled by the treatment of some person" keep yourself reminded about this.
It's not what happens to us, but our response to what happens to us that hurts us.
